Inland Skipper course

The ISSA Inland Skipper course is designed for those wishing to skipper small sailing yachts on inland or sheltered waters. The training program combines essential theoretical knowledge with practical boat-handling skills, focusing on navigation, safety, maneuvering, and basic operations under sail.

How to submit the application

Only through ISSA-accredited schools

By the end of the course, participants will be confident in planning and conducting short passages, managing crew and vessel safely, and operating within the limits of inland waterways.

At the end of the course there will be a final Assessment on the theoretical material and an SRC Assessment, after which you will receive your skipper’s license and vhf operator’s license
