So who is ISSA?
ISSA is the global international organization of sailing schools.
was founded in London in January 1969, by major sailing organizations from France, Italy, Poland, Great Britain and Switzerland.
To ISSA soon after joined other sailing organizations from around the world: the Middle East, America, Asia, Australia and Africa.
Today the organization has over 3500 sailing schools and clubs worldwide
The purpose of the organization is to provide opportunities in the world for people who dream of learning to sail and start their journey in well equipped and professional sailing schools,
as well as providing an international career path for sailing guides around the world for leisure and commercial purposes .

Owner and initiator of VARDI VELA ISSA SCHOOLS ltd
The sea has always been a part of me, since my childhood in Shavei Zion. I began competitive sailing, winning numerous competitions, including first place in the 1985 Maccabiah Games. Later, I sailed around the world as a skipper, experiencing the oceans and gaining invaluable sailing experience.
I continued to coach sailors in national and international competitions.
In 2003, I founded the VARDI VELA Sailing School, where I taught hundreds of responsible skippers their first steps at sea.
In 2010, I partnered with ISSA (the International Sailing School Association), to promote the field of sailing world wide.
Today, I teach and share my love for sailing through the Vardi Vela Cyprus Sailing School in Cyprus, where I also fulfilled my dream of sailing across all the world’s oceans.
