INLAND SKIPPER COURSE — International License for Inland & Sheltered Waters (ISSA)

The ISSA Inland Skipper course is your gateway to sailing the lakes and rivers of Europe in accordance with CEVNI rules. This training program seamlessly combines essential theoretical knowledge with intensive, hands-on boat handling, giving you total confidence in navigation, safety, maneuvers and operations.

No previous sailing or maritime experience is required — we teach you everything from the ground up.

What You Will Master

Practical boat handling: mastery of vessel operations, precise maneuvering under power, and safe crew management.
Navigation & safety: comprehensive understanding of inland waterway navigation rules, core safety standards and short-passage planning.
Integrated radio certification: the course fully incorporates the official SRC/VHF marine communication training and assessment, certifying you as a licensed radio operator.

Course Details

Prerequisites: none. No prior training or certificates required.
Eligibility: training and applications are conducted exclusively through accredited ISSA schools.
Duration: 4 intensive days.
Minimum participation: 4 participants.
Graduation: upon passing the final theoretical assessment and the SRC assessment, you will officially receive both your International Skipper’s License and your VHF Operator’s License.
